Film cells were kind of an unheard of collectible some years ago. They were usually not sold to private individuals or distributed. Many producers and directors have pieces of their film displayed in their home, as well as other people that worked on the movie, but that was it.

Now anyone can own a piece of their favorite movie and most of the time the film cells are an extremely limited collector’s item. They are typically numbered and signed and come with a certificate to ensure that they are official film cells from the movie. But what do you do with them once you have bought them?

Film cells are a great way to enhance the décor of your home theater. Though most people think of Movie Posters and Lobby Cards when decorating their media rooms, film cells can add the look and feel of a director’s or producer’s private studio.

Why use the same types of décor in your home theater that everyone else uses? A few film cells, a replica movie prop, and some specially designed home theater seats may not look and feel like a traditional movie house, but they do add a special kind of atmosphere all their own.

As more and more people start designing their own home theater rooms the private screening room feel is going to be one of the more popular options. Besides, if you want to experience the magic of going to the movies then go to the movies, but if you want your own special retreat to watch movies in consider designing one that is as unique as you are.
